The Peepal Cocktail Gown is a timeless gown with a halter collar and a bejeweled belted skirt. Handmade in rainfed cotton, the fabric is hand-spun, handwoven and natural plant dyed. It infuses the heritage Bawanbuti weave on the body and the signature checkered Kota Doria Weave in the midriff. This particular piece shows leaves of the Peepal tree connecting us to the history of Bodh Gaya. This is a made to order piece and the design will be replicated in varying motifs. and Buddhism in Bihar. Limited edition piece, made to order. A breezy gown to make a heirloom part in your wardrobe.
2. The rare unbleached Kota Doria is specially made for Jiwya, in plant fibers, from a village where there is a pit loom in every home.
3. The artisans who worked on these raw materials are State and Padma Shri awardees.
